Sustainability in practice: A look at Cottage Metsäranta
In a world where pressure on the environment and natural resources is constantly increasing, sustainability is becoming increasingly important. People all over the world are striving to live more consciously and reduce their impact on the planet, for the sake of ourselves and certainly for generations to come. An example of such a commitment to sustainability can be found in our Cottage Metsäranta, where we are committed to minimising our carbon footprint.

Water use
One of the first steps taken towards sustainability in Cottage Metsäranta is the conscious use of water. Water is a precious commodity and reducing waste is crucial. We have taken several measures to minimise water consumption, such as installing water-saving showerheads. Moreover, a rainwater harvesting system will soon be commissioned to collect water for garden irrigation and other non-potable purposes. The water in the sauna comes directly from the lake; it is 100% clean water.
The drinking water comes from our own water source and is not only tasty but also completely safe. So buying bottled water from a Supermarket is absolutely unnecessary!

Green electricity
Another important pillar of sustainability is the use of green electricity. Instead of relying on fossil fuels, we have opted for renewable energy sources generated by wind. By choosing this green energy, we contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and reducing their ecological impact.

No use of disposable plastic
Plastic pollution poses a huge threat to the oceans and the environment as a whole. Cottage Metsäranta therefore deliberately refrains from using disposable plastic. Instead, reusable alternatives are used. By making these small but important changes, we help reduce plastic waste and contribute to the preservation of the natural environment.

Separating waste
Separating waste is a simple but effective way to reduce the amount of waste going to landfills and promote recycling. At Cottage Metsäranta, waste is carefully separated into categories such as glass, plastic, paper, cardboard and organic waste. By supporting recycling and using reusable materials, we not only reduce our impact on the environment, but also contribute to a circular economy. We expect our guests to actively contribute to this as well. Paper, cardboard, plastic and glass can be disposed of at the environmental station in the car park in front of the Sale supermarket. Organic waste can be thrown in the compost bin.

All in all, we offer an inspiring example of how sustainability can be put into practice. By using water consciously, using green electricity, avoiding plastic disposables and separating waste. We demonstrate our commitment to protecting the planet and creating a more sustainable future. Our efforts serve as a source of inspiration for others striving to live a more eco-friendly life.

Surely you will join us!
