Did you know that in Savonranta

Besides a wide variety of birds, there are also bears, foxes, wolves, lynxes, moose, beavers, and badgers in this part of Finland?
Yes, these are all found in Etelä-Savo, and therefore also in Savonranta, but you have to be lucky to see them. So you don’t have to be afraid at all, because they stay well away from habitation.
Reindeer are not found in this area. For that, you have to travel further north.

On the other side of “our” lake are several (5) beaver lodges. With a bit of luck and peace, you can observe them around dusk and early in the morning. I’ve been able to admire them several times, as have some of my guests. I was also lucky enough to encounter a moose twice; they are enormous! I’ve also spotted badgers and foxes.
